Kyle & Jen




Carter Eventing is the successful business run by Kyle and Jennifer Carter in Citra, Florida. Both Kyle and Jen are successful Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event competitors.

  • Kyle is an Olympian and has represented Canada at various major championships throughout his career.
  • Jen was long-listed for the USA from 1999-2004. She was invited to ride with the USA developing riders with David O’Connor in 2002-2003.

As a result of competing at the highest levels in this sport, the couple has a combined track record of success that makes them a highly regarded team within the equestrian community. Striving to exercise the highest degree of horsemanship in every aspect at their stables and training facility, their commitment to excellence is apparent given the world-class horses and students they produce.

Major Games

Kyle has represented Canada at numerous international games and  has successfully rode each major games’ cross-country track without jumping penalties on horses he produced.

  • 1999 –  Pan Am Games, Winnipeg Canada on Scotia Goldrush
  • 2007  – Pan Am Games, Rio de Janeiro on Madison Park, (5th individually, Silver Team Medalist)
  • 2008 – Olympic Games, Hong Kong on Madison Park
  • 2010 – World Equestrian Games, Lexington, KY on Madison Park (Silver Team Medallist)

Proven coaching team

Carter Eventing currently has a dedicated roster of over 55 long-term students. In addition, Kyle has coached the Guatemalan Pan American Team from 2008-2011 and he is the current United States Eventing Association (USEA) Area III team coach.

Students come from all over North America and Canada to train at their facility during the Florida show season. Kyle is a Level IV ICP coach in the US, a Level III Certified Coach in Canada.

Throughout the past 20 years, Kyle has produced some phenomenal riders. Carter Eventing students are consistently in the ribbons and on the USEA leader board. Some of his coaching highlights include:

  • 2001 USEA Preliminary Amateur High Point Rider – Stephanie Schmidt, USA
  • 2004 USEA Intermediate Amateur High point rider – Nicole Shinton, Canada
  • 2011 Pan Am Games 5th place – Elena Ceballos, Venezuela
  • 2009 – 2011 Team Coach for Guatemaula and put together the program for this Federation that enabled them to win Individual Gold and Bronze medals at the 2010 Carribean Games and place 5th at the 2011 Pan Am Games
  • 2015 USEA Intermediate Amateur High point rider – Elana Ceballos, VEN
  • 2016 Badminton Horse Trials Top Placed Under 25 Rider – Libby Head USA

USEA Area III North American Junior Young Rider Coach since 2002

Kyle has coached numerous individuals and teams to medals every year with multiple team and individual gold medalists. In 2013, under Kyle’s coaching, Area III swept the competition with four gold medals.

Developing horses

Although developing a horse to the highest levels of competition is rare,  Kyle and Jen and have been able to produce four star horses over and over.

  • 1993-1999 – Kyle competed each year on variety of horses that he produced
  • 1999 – Kyle on Scotia Goldrush, 2nd place Rolex CCI***
  • 2002 & 2003 – Jen on Leaps and Bounds (home bred and raised by Kyle)
  • 2008 – Four horses out of 44 in the CCI**** came out of the Carter Eventing Program.
  • 2010 – Kyle on Madison Park 13th place, CCI****
  • 2016 – Kyle on Madison Park 34th place, CCI****
